Have you started to talk about the 2012 election?  What resources would be useful?

We have few lesson plans: caucuses/primaries, the role of social media, how to assess the candidates.  Other topics we're considering: Super PACs, the issue of wealth inequality and how it plays out in this year's elections.

We'd love to hear what you think!

I should also add that we have all of the PBS NewsHour's resources, with an election map we update during the primaries, candidate profiles, etc.

Feel free to point to other news organizations or other sites -- we want to know what is useful.

Thanks these are helpful.  I also point my teachers to C-SPAN election materials, C-SPAN Classroom and the new C-SPAN Classroom site "Deliberations" http://www.c-spanclassroomdeliberations.org/. Super PACs would be a great topic.

I think Super PACs are an incredibly powerful, brand new political tool, and I think you're right on the money looking to teach about them!

Here's a collection of articles I strung together that examine the different aspects of Super PACs: http://www.mentormob.com/learn/i/understanding-super-pacs

The platform this collection of articles is built on is called MentorMob, which allows you to put resources you find into a cohesive and linear format--which is cool because it allows you to learn by teaching, as it were.

Hope this is helpful and I'd love any feedback! (As I'm the one who picked which articles to include, and though I tried to use sources that were clear and trustworthy, I'm by no means an expert.)

You can put together your own playlists too!

THIS JUST IN: A SUPER PAC LESSON PLAN!

Please let us know what you think.

Looks great! I like how all the information collected is presented seamlessly on one page.
