Hello Everyone!
My name is Sue Palmer and I am a secondary social studies teacher who uses tech to teach at risk and inclusion students. Over the past year I have incorporated podcasts into my teaching, specifically creating review video podcasts used by my students on their iPods and mp3 players. It has transformed my classroom! With a brief introduction to podcasting from my tech director, I proceeded to learn the remainder of what I needed to get started pretty much on my own, i.e. “the hard way”. The first podcast I created took me literally three days, as I plodded alone through the process! It would have been great to have a mentor or help from other podcasters. This was before I found Classroom 2.0 and the awesome resources it offers!
I am a real believer in using the technology in the hands of our students to help them be successful in school. My district has purchased iPods and mp3 players which we now use for many purposes! Since podcasting, screencasting, and the technology related to it is new for many of us, and can be daunting, I have started a new Ning network called iPod Educators where educators can share, explore, and learn about these new tools and their use in education. If you are a pro, I hope you will join us and share your knowledge and experience. We need mentors! If you have no experience, or just a bit, collaboration will allow us to get started or just discuss and possibly explore how we may harness this powerful new approach to help our students! We hope this will be a great resource at all levels!
Please join us at

Sue
