iPhone in the Classroom?

With the launch of iPhone 3G on Friday I wondered if anyone is currently researching or playing around with the use of iPhones in educational settings. The big thing on Friday will be the launch of the App Store and the ability to install programs on these things. I can see the iTouch being the perfect device to become a public response clicker, SMS transmitter, podcasting platform, and so much more. Hefty price though so it's a tough sell for K-12.
