I'm trying to set up a class Ning account (just private for group work) and wondered how you change the default Google ads down the right hand side, to what you can see here. How do I reproduce something that looks like this - so that links and information are easily accessed?

I wonder too, how to use Ning effectively with wikispaces for my students. I don't want to overwhelm them. Is Ning easier to use than Edublogs - what's the best one to use here?

Hiya,
Hiya - I just looked at ning.com for the 1st time - there was an inappropriate picture cartoon right there on the homepage so I didn't even bother signing up! Sorry! I've also scrapped my edublogs site because of the ads that were introduced.
Have you considered www.edu20.org ?
I've only used it as a VLE but there are the usual chat/forum options and you can isolate your classes. It's also quite intuitive to use.
Best of luck.
education.ning.com may well offer different options.
Ning is a social network, Edublogs is for blogging. Two different things IMO.
You can pay $25/month to remove the ads or add your own.
