First Day Plans...For Specialists

I get the students once every six days for 17 weeks. I am just trying to decide what to do for grade 8 students. I don't want to do too much because some change or drop certain classes so it is a bit unsettled. We do Photoshop, PPt. and Dreamweaver.

I am looking for some feedback on something to keep them busy enough that first day but not where I have to instruct a complicated lesson. They all are proficient in PPt. and ok at Photoshop.

I would prefer to give them a handout with some directions but again, don't want to get to detailed.

Try the Wacky Summer Camp brochure, It might take more than one session but it is fun. Dan Meyer does some great things with tech design. One of the contests he's held was "Me: In One Slide" You can read about that here I think 8th graders would love both these mini-projects.
