WANTED: Stories and Examples of Teacher Leaders Using Technology to Promote Professional Development

Hello ,

I'm a School Based Technology Specialist in Fairfax County, VA and a doctoral student at George Mason University. I'm currently working as a GRA for Dr. Lynne Schrum, who wrote the book "Web 2.0: New School, New Tools". A follow up book is in the works. There is a chapter in the book that focuses on stories and examples of teacher leaders using technology for professional development in their schools or classrooms.

We are looking for specific examples of how teacher leaders, instructional coaches, mentors, tech coordinators, or teachers in tech committees, etc use technology to help their colleagues learn and implement new skills and strategies and/or promote professional development.

If you have any such stories and would be willing to share and get mentioned in a book, please email me at pledesm1@gmu.edu. We ask that whatever example you give is accessible via the Internet. The purpose of these stories are to show administrators real world examples of what is being done- so it's important that readers can see your work. Unfortunately, there is no stipend for submitting your story, but you do get to see your name in print if we use your story! :-)

I hope to hear from some of you. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Patrick Ledesma, Ed.S., NBCT
