What kind of web 2.0 tools have you been using in your classroom? I'm going to be a 4th year teacher in the upcoming 10-11 school year. Last year I used quia.com to quiz my students on a grammar lesson, we used WindowsMovieMaker to create a video for our school -- I also started my students on a podcast, blog, and video project to voice their opinions on things that matter to them -- sadly we didn't have time to finish them. What technologies have you used so far?
Hello all,
I'm Jason Knight, teaching high school science (mostly bio, at the moment) in Topsham, Maine. Our district recently hired a new district level IT guy and it sounds like using these tools will be much easier for us in the near future, so I'm excited about that, and excited to be seeing how others are using technology to help students.
Hello Jason,
I am one of the hosts here. Welcome to Classroom 2.0. Sounds like your district is going to be doing some great things. You should find lots of ideas and pages to explore here. Happy exploring!

Hi! I'm a first year Media Specialist in Laurel Hill, NC. I am currently working towards my MLS at ECU totally online. I have become obsessed with Web 2.0 and how I can use it in the media center. I really hope to learn a lot from this community!
HI Katie. Welcome to Classtoom 2.0! I did my Master's completely online also. You start to appreciate how much of what we do as educators can be impacted by online comunities. This is a great place to learn and share Web 2.0 ideas and strategies. .
Hi,

I am currently doing a PGCE at Further Education in Art & Design/Construction at Thames Valley University in the UK. I am fresh out of university, having only graduated last September, and being only 22, feel i am still part of the 'cyber generation'. I have always had an interest in how technology, in particular Social Networking Sites can be used effectivly in education, and am currently writing a research paper on it, so any thoughts, comments, or ideas on this topic would be greatly appreciated
Sam:

Great stuff. Hope you'll chime in and give us your "cyber generation" perspective! :) I'm sure the group here would love to hear how your paper is going as you move forward. You're certain to get some feedback!

Hi to all!

I'm Mary Beth, an instructional technology specialist for Columbia County Schools (near Augusta, GA). I'm responsible for technology professional learning for nine elementary schools. I'm interested in learning as much as I can about Web 2.0 as I prepare effective ways to expose my educational community to these tools and their affect on learning.
Hi, Mary Beth!

I wonder if you might be interested in the "It's Elementary" webcasts at http://www.edtechtalk.com/ItsElementary. Might be a good connection for you!

Hi folks,

Having spent 21 years sharing ideas with and learning from high school students - I thought it was time to face new challenges . . . such as helping teachers integrate instructional technology in the classroom in Waterloo Region, Ontario Canada.

Great to be aboard!
Welcome aboard. Classroom 2.0 is a great place to start a journey learning about new tools and ways to launch your teaching into the 21st Century. Let me know if you have any questions about navigating here.

Hi Mike. Welcome to Classroom .20. I'm an elementary teacher in Southern California and also serve as on onsite tech integration mentor. It sounds like we have some similar goals. I started participating last summer and have found some great ideas. Hope you do too!
