Hello, I am Colleen Young, a UK Mathematics teacher (of ages 11 -18) interested in all things Web2.0.
Blog: Colleen Young

I have been using Diigo recently which I like very much - you have probably seen most if not all of these Web2.0 directories before but I thought I would put the directories I like on a Diigo list.

If you look at the blog you will note that I am adding all my favourite math sites to Diigo. This should be complete over the next few days.

Greetings,
I am a Barber Instructor and a Cosmetology Instructor in Columbus, GA. I have been trying to use social networking to communicate with my students and their families. I have been using multiply, myspace, facebook and twitter for about 3 years now with some success. I am afraid that I am "trail blazing in the dark" with my limited computer knowledge. I have been posting my powerpoint presentations to the blog and I post pictures of my students work. I have been using youtube with some success, although my students now want to create educational/demonstration videos. I have purchased a nice cam and now I am a bit overwhelmed, as I do not know how to edit these videos.

I have two blogs that I would love some feedback on from this group. I want to learn how to create a web class that is interactive. Please help me.

Hi,
I am Tracy from New Jersey - I am an English Supervisor and I also teach one class, but I have been in my district for 13 years. I am looking for ways to add 2.0 technology to our department and within the classroom, but I am also looking for ways to get our Superintendent on board, along with our Tech team. It has been difficult. I created a Ning for our English department and I am excited to see how that works - I am open to ideas and suggestions and I look forward to learning how to integrate technology into what we do daily.
Hello all. Tyler Livingston from St. Paul, MN here. I am a 7th/8th grade Langauge Arts teacher at a year-round IBMYP school. I'll be starting my eleventh year teaching, but this will be my first year taking a huge dive into Web 2.0, using a smartboard, edublog, etc. I'm looking forward to the new challenge, and I think my kids will really get a kick out of it all.
Hi, I'm Christina Huff. I am currently working on my master's degree in secondary education and biology. I have lived in Alabama for about 7 years with plans to move where ever I can find a teaching job after I graduate.
Hello all, I'm a primary school teacher from Warwickshire, England. I've been teaching for 6 years. Last year I decided to take a year out of teaching because my son was starting school.

My wife is a teacher too, so we felt it important that he had someone to take him to and from school as he settled in. He really suffered at pre-school with us both being full-time.

I decided I needed to do something productive during my year out, and so learnt how to programme and made a series of maths resources for IWBs:

www.mathsframe.co.uk

In a previous life I was an actuary, so the maths came fairly easily to me.

I've enjoyed my year, and my son has certainly benefited, but I have missed teaching. I shall be looking for a part-time teaching job in September, so that I can continue making my software and giving time to my son as he settles in year 1.

I am always looking for new ideas for maths resources, so please let me know if anything comes to mind.

It's a wonderful job. I just broke my ankle, so I will be joining those in wheelchairs for a while.
My name is Doug Valentine. I'm the elementary librarian at McKillop Elementary in Melissa Texas. I enjoy transforming library learning with any tool possible. I have produced a number of videos in different subject areas. Online I am known as "Dr. Loopy" because of my series of science videos. Most of my work can be found online at TeacherTube.
Doug,
I am an English teacher in Peru and I love what you have done for the book reports. Is that a special program or a website that you use to do the animation? It is a great way to get children speaking out loud - even the shy ones. I am new to all of this stuff but I can give the information to our computer teacher to help me with it. Very creative!

I'm an EFL teacher, teacher trainer, and materials writer originally from California and now living in Japan. Outside of higher ed and private schools, there isn't much technology in classrooms here, so my interest is primarily in finding ways for teachers to use technology for professional development :-)

I've recently started a blog, but am still quite new (and slow) at it: http://www.teachingvillage.org

You can also find me at http://www.twitter.com/barbsaka or in Second Life as Lynn Carlucci

I look forward to learning with all of you.
Hi all,

My name is Matt.

I work with an Alcohol and other Drugs training organisation in Australia and accidently fell into e-learning when an organisation I used to work for took a strategic change in direction a few years ago.

Since that time I have worked for a number of Registered Training Organisations delivering vocational training for the Alcohol and other Drugs Sector.

I have a keen interest in instructional design and developing innovative ways to deliver training to both AOD professionals and clients.

I am looking forward to learning more about elearning and developing greater skills and having a good time too!
