Hi! My name is Michelle and I am a fifth grade teacher in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. This is my fourth year teaching fifth grade. Prior to my experiences in public school, I worked at a private daycare, primarily with preschool and kindergarten aged students. I have just begun using Ning, so I am new to this networking community. My only experiences with it thus far, is through the Wilkes University instructional setting. I have created my own social networking site, Committed to Creating, Congregating, and Connecting: Technology is a Means to a Brighter Future! (http://commitcreatecongregateconnect.ning.com/profile/Michelle) and have posted an initial discussion topic in my forum. I invite Ning in Education members to visit my page and welcome your contributions.
Hello everyone! My name is Joy and I am an elementary educator from Richmond, Virginia. I am specifically interested in integrating Digital Storytelling projects into the curriculum and have created a social networking site (http://digitalstorytellingclassrooms.ning.com) for educators to share ideas. I would love to know how you are using Digital Storytelling in your own classrooms. I am excited to be part of this growing network of educators and look forward to connecting and collaborating.
Hi All,

I'm a teacher facilitating instruction for GED prep, Adult Basic Education, Adult High School, and we also assist with our (rural) county's Paraprofessional certification. I've been teaching almost 24 years. My degree was in Elementary Education but I've never taught in a full-time elementary classroom. I've always been in a special education area: Varying exceptionalities, gifted, and now adult ed. I have a Master's in Adult Education and Distance Learning and I have just started doing workshops for teachers as our region's technology go-to in Adult and Community Education's Regional Training Council. (Started with an overview of social networking in education.) When I'm not working, my fun job is artist. (Not really a job, just fun that sometimes makes me a little money). I look forward to learning from you all (ya'll) and hope I'm able to contribute too! I would love hearing from other GED/ABE teachers and learn how they are using technology in their classrooms.
Hello all. My name is Jenn Brooks I'm in my 4th year of teaching in a small high school in Lancaster County, PA. My classes include biology, environmental science, and forensics. I created a Ning username last year and signed up for the One Comment a Day Ning but haven't really done anything with it. I’m currently enrolled in a Web 2.0 class through Wilkes University and am looking forward to learning more about the use of Web 2.0 tools in the classroom.
Hi! My name is Laurel (Laurie) and I have been teaching for 19 years. 15 of those years have been in first grade. I have a Promethean Activboard in my classroom and absolutely love finding ways to make learning exciting and fun for my students. I have created a network on Ning for collaboration with other first grade (or lower elementary) teachers: http://firstgradefun.ning.com

Hi everyone, I´m happy to be here. I´m taking the CCK09 Course and found about this site through Lucy Gray´s session on Personal Learning Enviroments. I work as a Community Manager and would love to get to know more about social media, community creation and empowerment of individuals and societies.
Hi Everyone,

Just signed up to forum today & I'm so excited to join the family.. I am working on an e-Learning project to empower workers and alleviate poverty in Africa by offering management & leadership education to individuals over the internet.. Need help with;

1. Identifying best LMS technologies (technology advisors)
2. Syndicating content (content managers)

Having grown up in Africa, I have experienced first-hand the dire negative effect of mismanagement and poor leadership on society. I am passionate about empowering individuals and my mantra is; 'Feed a man a fish & feed him for a day, teach a man to fish & feed him for life'..

Will love to connect with anyone interested in empowering individuals in developing countries, particularly Africa..

Regards,

George
