My name is Chris and I'm a high school math teacher in Orlando, FL, at a brand-new K-12 charter school. The school has plans of becoming a technology-rich, 1:1 school in the near future. I am in my 13th year as a math teacher; the past three years were spent teaching exclusively online for Connections Academy, but I returned to a brick-and-mortar classroom this year. I'm trying to bring technology into my room as much as possible, given my limited resources (read: none), so here's hoping I can get some ideas.
Thank you for writing. My focus is on the sociology of human behavior, particularly the culture of poverty and the communication gap between the various social economic classes. I'm certain there are organizations out there that can and will help you, particularly those foundations involved in providing technology to schools. I'm sorry I don't have any references for you. I do wish you the very best in finding a solution. Don't give up. There are a lot of volunteers willing to help. It's just a matter of matching up with the right foundation. Good luck. Best, Doug
My name is Tina Sherrill and I am a technology integration specialist (media and curriculum) in Northwest Iowa US. We are 1:1 in Grades 5-12. I support the classroom teachers in this public school endeavor and continually sing its praises. I have taught classes at all grade levels, K-College, and am most interested in the use of digital resources/applications to enable students of any age to work in their areas of interests and strengths with passionate, caring instructor/mentors.
Tyler, great work you have done at a very tender age- i am sure you will invent something

I'm always interested in broadening my knowledge of Web 2.0 and technology integration in the classroom and so far Classroom 2.0 has been well worth it!
