Hi everyone,

I'm here to get feedback from folks on how I can repurpose some of the technology I've created for educational purposes. I built a site called bookglutton.com which is quite popular with high school reading groups and classrooms, and I'm just looking to hear from smart people here who might have ideas for moving it further in that direction. Feel free to contact me (through the website or here).

Best,

Aaron

Hy everybody!

I'm Silvana Temperini....mother, wife and teacher.

I live in Pescara, Italy and I teach in a superior school.  I'm very interested in how web2.0 will change the way we learn and teach. I love reading and culture and I’d like to share ideas and make projects, especially about HOTEL MANAGEMENT, with all of you.

Glad to be part of this community!

.

I at one time was a owner and manager of a hotel in a small town in Pennsylvania. It was handed down to  me from my father who passed away years ago.

Cornel University is the number one school for Hotel Management in the USA. They are in the state of New York.

I believe if you go on Google and put in Cornel Univeristy and then Hotel Management you can request literature and a catelogue from them.

These should be of help. Let me know how it works out

Hello Jim. Thank you for posting these helpful site.

Have a great day!

Silvana.

I am from Baltimore, Maryland. I taught at my alma mater, St.Paul's in Baltimore, for 4 years before moving to Santa Monica, California in 2002. Since then, I have taught Global Studies, English, and Public Speaking at Brentwood School. I have help spearhead numerous service learning events coordinating with our Global Studies course: Darfur Awareness Day, AIDS in S. Africa, Corruption in Zimbabwe, Democratic Republic of Congo to name a few. I love teaching creative writing, especially poetry. I hold numerous poetry salons. Just this past week, I launched a social networking site for teens to communicate through poetry. www.onebillionpoetry.ning.com.  I am married to a children's book author and have a daughter.

Looking to connect with teachers who are interested in collaborating with poetry as well as service learning opportunities.  Glad to be here.

I am in my last semester of school before I begin the wonderful journey of student teaching and attempting to find a job.  I joined this website for a class and I am so glad I did.  I have found so many resources for Special Education and helpful aids for lesson plan making.  I am happy to know there are so many people willing to help other teachers out.
Hello!  My name is Colleen Christenson and I am the full-release mentor in Oregon, Wisconsin.  I am interested in utilizing Classroom 2.0 with initial educators in our district. If you have any suggestions for me, I'd love to hear from you.
Welcome Christine this is the place to be.

My name is Breana Sylvester Dacy and I am a former elementary school teacher and doctoral student at the University of Texas at Austin, about to finish my degree.  I am very interested in how schools and policy makers can support teachers in their learning and well-being. I joined to be able to talk to teachers about their experiences and maybe even team up with interested teachers in exploring relevant research.

I'm currently doing a study looking at how teachers' perceptions of the school environment and opportunities for growth contribute to teachers' well-being and professional commitment.  If anyone's interested in chatting or looking at my study, please let me know! :)

Hello,

Jorge García, I teach programming languages at UNITEC and I am founder of Class.io we are integrating Google Apps, Facebook and other web applications (like twitter and dropbox) to the classroom making it easier and natural for teachers and students.

I love teaching, I am working in developing teamwork competencies in computer science students, making them less individualistic. At our computer science program we are using the CDIO framework.

I am also implementing peer instruction (right now with no technology just hands :( ) in one of my courses, this is totally recommended.

I hope to learn from the community!
