Thanks, Steve... seems like this is going to be a great place to hang out and learn. Thanks, too, for the ups on my list... I think Jane's really got a good thing going on with that project. (http://www.c4lpt.co.uk/recommended/top100.html)
This is a great place to join. I have been part of Classroom 2.0 for about 5 months and have found the network incredibly valuable. I see you have made a good start so far.
Hello all,
Daniel Nicholson from Atlanta, Ga. I am a former Corp I.T. manager who recently made the jump to Educational Technology. I work for a smaller school system who is VERY tech challenged.
Tons of cutting edge tech but poor implementation and no technology plan or vision. I am looking to collaborate with other professionals.
HI Daniel
Like you, I made a jump from the corporate world to the education world. I think you will find some like-minded folks here at CR 2.0. One piece of advice I can give you is not to expect things will run the way they did in the corporate field. They should, but usually don't. I've found I have to suggest, advocate for, and push the big things, but focus on the small things that make a difference in the day-to-day lives of students and staff. They have to see the reason why using the technology is worth it to meet needs. The work will pay off in time!
