The effects of web-based technologies on knowledge transfer

Does anybody after using enhanced web-based services such as Web2.0 technologies, have experienced an increase in their problem solving skills or observed an improvement in the problem solving skills of their students ?

For educators who are interested in this topic, I invite a kind reference to a paper published in "Communications of the ACM - July 2007 / Vol.50, No.7" contributed by Waymond Rodgers and Solomon Nagesh with title "The effects of web-based technologies on knowledge transfer - Does using enhanced web-based services increase problem solving skills?" URL of paper is http://portal.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=1272523&coll=portal&d...
(only for ACM members).
