Classroom 2.0 and the Law of Confidentiality

I am all about having my students express their views to a world-wide audience. But at what points does it cross the lines of confidentiality? I know that full names aren't to be published along with any identifiable information, but what is the standard. I would love to see a set of guidelines be developed so that we need not worry about crossing any lawful lines. This probably deals more with our laws in the States, but it would be interesting to see what other countries have going too.

This is such an extremely important question.

As educators, we can always lecture students on what they are allowed and not allowed to do. I do not believe this has enough effect on the kids. We need to bring them into the process and allow them to become "enlightened" as to the dangers. The very best program for doing this is iSafe. I think this is one of the best programs ever created. Please check it out at http://www.isafe.org/. By the way, I'm not affiliated with this program, I'm just a big fan.

Thanks for tip.. I wondered over to their site and noticed that they have some online training for safety. Do you know if they specialize any in student blogging?
