I've been using Leopard for about a week now and feel that this is the most fluid updates of all the Apple operating systems. I'm not sure how user friendly Time Machine and Spaces will be for most users, I do love the new features of Preview, Email, and ical. Plus, the dock looks so cool!! I would love to hear any thoughts regarding this latest OS, especially regarding Leopard Server. Apple will be hosting some training for this very soon, click here for more details/locations.

If the students are going to be using Leopard you will probably like the new features of Parental Controls also. I'm thinking that Podcast capture will be a good tool in conjunction with Podcast Producer on Leopard server. I have found a few quirks that have given me some problems in the beta version - but I think they probably will be resolved soon. I have had some problems on laptops trying to use Parallels or VMWare Fusion. There seems to be some issues with input from the trackpad but I haven't tried it since the final release has been out.
Other than that, I think it's a great new release.
Thanks for the insight. We don't have Leopard Server on a machine yet, but we might create a test environment to test it out. Podcasting/Blogging is one of my favorite things in Tiger so I'd be interested to see how it works in Leopard. Also, I read up about a wiki service through Leopard as well. From what I've heard from a co-worker he was having issues getting bootcamp to work in Leopard. I've always been interested in using Fusion but the initial setup seemed quite complicated to me.
There is a wiki service through Leopard also. I haven't looked into that yet. I will be starting the test environment on that within the next week or so. I haven't had any problems with Boot Camp on Leopard - just the virtual environment on a laptop. I have used both Parallels and Fusion and, for my money, Fusion is a better product. The set up, using a Boot Camp partition, is really pretty simple. I use the Boot Camp option because my job sometimes requires me to work in the Windows environment and Fusion seems to perform slightly better than Parallels in these instances.
Well I installed it and I only notice that my Macbook runs a bit slower than it did before.

It's not about operating systems, it's about a focus on learning.

How will upgrading my Macs improve the learning experience for my students is what I ask myself...??
