I believe the best websites are those that allow a great deal of participation. The easier you can make the site the better. We use a vendor service that provides a "newspaper" like website design. The service is SOCS but I'm sure there are others like it, as well. It uses a correspondent, editor, manager model that allows students, teachers, PTO's, almost anyone you approve contribute content to the site. As with any web 2.0 application, collaboration is the key...I'd highly suggest setting up a website with the ability to, as transparently as possible, allow for multiple collaborators. Good Luck.
Very nice adaption of a moodle site, William. And Randy, your district is so clean and easy to use. I am presently moving our district to a Joomla site - the old one is at http://msad52.org
