What are friends, networks for? - The value of an FAQ
As I launch into participation in the classroom 2.0 ning site, I came upon two quick questions that I cannot answer.
What is the value of adding friends (i.e. inviting or accepting invitations)?
What is the concept of my "network"?

I really like that I was able to add the RSS feed to my blog so that people can see what I'm doing. It would be nice to be able to add multiple ones, however (like my del.icio.us feed, linkblog, etc) so that people.
It would be nice to have a At a Glance page so that new users could have a brief 2-3 sentence summary of some of the new features (discussion forums I can comprehend, I'm still getting the benefit (concepts) of some of the more social networking side of it)

Alice Mercer clued me into one of the uses of "friends." You can compose an email message that goes to all your friends.
