Education Week gave a brief review of a new web site, called
Route 21, that's designed to inform people about 21st-century skills.
"Partnership for 21st-century Skills" put out the website last week. About that organization, quoted from its website:
"The Partnership for 21st Century Skills has emerged as the leading advocacy organization focused on infusing 21st century skills into education. The organization brings together the business community, education leaders, and policymakers to define a powerful vision for 21st century education to ensure every child's success as citizens and workers in the 21st century. The Partnership encourages schools, districts and states to advocate for the infusion of 21st century skills into education and provides tools and resources to help facilitate and drive change."
"Member organizations include: Adobe Systems, Inc., American Association of School Librarians, Apple, AT&T, Blackboard, Inc., Cable in the Classroom, Cengage Learning, Cisco Systems, Corporation for Public Broadcasting, Davis Publications, Dell, Inc., Discovery Education, Education Networks of America, Education Testing Service, EF Education, Ford Motor Company Fund, Giant Campus, Intel Foundation, JA Worldwide®, Knowledgeworks Foundation, LEGO Group, McGraw-Hill Education, Measured Progress, Microsoft Corporation, National Education Association, Oracle Education Foundation, Pearson, PolyVision, SAP, Texas Instruments, THINKronize, Verizon, Wireless Generation."
Has anyone had the time to look "Route 21" over yet? Seems to have some really good resources... What do you think of the arrangement, by core subjects? Are any of you in the states that are promoting this initiative, and are you feeling any influence from this organization?
Seems we could do a pretty good job exploring and reviewing the site.
