We are looking to add more poetry and drama to our Middle School curriculum.  Any good ideas for resources?  Books, interactive websites...something engaging for 7th and 8th grade students.

I use www.allpoetry.com with my eighth grade writers. It is a great site for publishing and they get feedback as well.
I am an elementary technology teacher and I just had a 4th grade class that was working on poetry create a poetry iBook using iBooks Author. The students really enjoyed this and I created an example for them to follow along with a template so that all they had to do was enter their poem and find pictures/video to go with their poem.

Hello Jane - Have a look in the Literature section on www.ZaneEducation.com and you will find quite extensive Resouces on both Poerty and Drama including American & British Poets and Poetry. Also see The Writing series in the same section.

Zane Education provides a subscription-based Visual Learning service using what is currently the largest online library of subtitled video developed specifically for the K-12 curriculum. Over 2,000 subtitled videos deliver 260 curriculum topics that enable children to study each particular topic and improve their reading and literacy skills simultaneously.

But we provide a complete solution that includes online testing for each topic, free lesson plans, interactive study tools that enable each topic to be thoroughly explored as well as a growing range of additional resources.

Hope that helps!
