Ask for suggestion for my project

I am a graduate degree student in Taiwan, recently focusing on the study of culture and metaphor. The issue I am going to survey is about within-cultural variation of metaphor of RESPONSIBILITY or MARRIAGE RELATIONSHIP between Mainland China and Taiwan. Due to the historical events, some daily terms in Taiwan is different from those of Mainland China, and I am wondering whether some deeper concept would change as well. However, it is difficult to collect language data, is there any suggestion for me toward this issue?
