Basic programming for middle school students

Made me think I should have some basic programming in my middle school computer curriculum. 

Where should I begin? 

Two things to keep in mind: I have only done html and css. Also, I work in a high-poverty school, and their attention spans are shorter than a Kim Kardashian marriage.
