I need some suggestions.  I will be away from my classroom for the first two days of school. I teach high school Digital Design & Introduction to Informational
Technology
. Student grade level 9-12.

I know the beauty and power the computer brings to EDU, however, I do not want to let the new students on the network or Internet without a signed AUP, nor do I want to have a substitute be responsible for overseeing teenagers in a modular design type computer lab. I can't always count on a substitue who is comfortable with technology.

The first few days always is a time where students come and go from the class,  so It's not like getting down to business right away. I think what I'm looking for
is something I can print out and have them complete on paper (regarding
technology, communications, etc.) then I might break up my 100 min. class with a
video that is based on the use of technology (like Eagle Eye) that they then
have to complete some questions directed to that movie.

Does anyone have any ideas they can share with me?  I hate to leave my new classes without something structured to do while I'm away.  Poor sub!
