Best lesson for core subject learning with technology

I'm hoping that people would be willing to share the best lesson that they have ever developed, or seen developed, for core subject area learning (math, science, social studies, English/language arts) using Web 2.0 technology. What made this lesson such high quality?

I guess the terms "best" or "high quality" are open to interpretation.

At the Lawrence Hall of Science, we have developed a digital photo sharing tool to go along with the various middle school courses.

It's our only lesson that involves Web 2.0 technologies. It is modeled off of the work of 'naturalist' photographers on flickr. For obvious reasons, we didn't simply make a flickr page for the students. By expecting students to use flickr we create to many opportunities for getting side tracked and potentially violate student privacy. Therefore, we designed our own photo sharing tool that accommodates users who are under 18.
