Blogging mentor program

I am in the process of creating a "program" where my students (5th/6th grade) would be paired with college students. I have contacted a local college's education department and they are very interested in participating. Basically, my students would blog daily/weekly and then would receive feedback and constructive criticism from their mentor using the 6-trait writing rubric.. Has anyone else been involved with a similar program? If so, how was it organized? How did it work? Did you keep any data? Any suggestions?
