Hi everyone,
I'm new to Classroom 2.0! Initially I joined because I'm doing an assignment at uni which requires me to investigate online learning communities such as this one, however I think I'll be sticking around since I'm very interested in learning about web 2.0 teaching tools. I've just started my new position as teacher librarian at my school and am doing inquiry based teaching/learning (using web 2.0 tools, of course) with students in stage 2 and 3. So far the kids love it, which is inspiring me!
Anyway, changing the topic, I was wondering if anyone out there has ever used Chromebooks before with their students? What are the benefits and disadvantages? My supervisor is thinking of getting 5 of them for the library, but I'd rather they replace 5 broken computers instead. Any thoughts or suggestions?? Thanks.

The Chromebook is a new, faster computer. It starts in seconds, and offers thousands of apps. It has built-in virus protection, and backs up your stuff in the cloud.
