I personally believe that when teaching a lesson connections should be made between the student's personal life and the subject material. This will help solidify the material as well as help the student to understand the relevance of the information. Connections could also be made between subject material. For example, one topic that your class is learning about could be integrated into all subjects. By building and developing connections, students are more likely to retain the information because they are directly seeing how the information impacts their own lives.

Very well said Elizabeth.Congratulations. If a student sees that the learning is relevant to their own lives they are more likely to be receptive.

How about personal connections between peers and support networks and their importance in the learning journey. Have you got any thoughts about that Elizabeth?
