Cyberbullying

I am very interested in cyberbullying. I think that it is an aspect that needs to be viewed in a more serious manner than it actually is. Children are hurting themselves and others because of the harsh things being stated while on online social networking sites. There as to be a way that the things individuals say online can be highly monitored. There are things being said about individuals are innocent. Once the comment is online it is out there for everyone to see. I feel as though this is really what hurts the victim. Seeing the horrible posts that people make about them. What can we do to help stop these horrible acts?

Incorporating a cyber safety curriculum into the classroom would be a great start http://www.commonsensemedia.org/educators/curriculum

This is the best K-12 cyber safety curriculum I have seen and dipped into. I have not introduced it as much as I would like to.

There is a call for public school policies in Ohio to address cyberbullying that occurs outside of school. Article from Cleveland newspaper http://bit.ly/mSjaeI.
