Hello,
My name is Carlos and I am new to this community. Over the past two years I have been studying towards a MA in Education and ICT, which I will complete in just a few weeks.
I am a language teacher (Spanish) and I believe that the Web 2.0 could help develop writing skills in a foreign language. I am actually working on this idea as part of my final thesis and I would need some feedback from you guys. My experience is very limited and doesn't really support my hypothesis. I tried to do a search but I cannnot find much on the topic.
What do I need? As I said above, tools like wikis, blogs, podcasts, etc can be very powerful when learning/teaching a foreign language. I believe that by modelling, re-writing, active collaboration and feedback can improve the written proficiency of the students. As a teacher, which tools do you use to support writing? What do the students use? Does it work? How do you make it work? How is it assessed (the progress and whether it is actually the use of these tools what helped)? Too many questions, I know, but I am desperate.
Also, if you can point me to the right direction, I will owe you a BIG one.
Thanks a lot. I hope to make contributions and share experiences as soon as I get my thesis out of the way.
Cheers,
Carlos
