My school has been training some of us teachers in Differentiated Instruction. I think I like the results that I am seeing. Do you have any experience teaching this way? How have you implemented DI in your classroom? In which ways do you differentiate? What are some of the anchor activities that you use? Do you incorporate any features of Understanding by Design into your lessons. I appreciate your feedback.

I've found the easiest way to do this is to let kids choose assignments. It removes all the stigma of giving one kid the "easy" version and making other kids "do more work." By making them choose you put the control in their hands and ensure they will gravitate towards those assignments that best fit their desired learning style.
I just gave a day long workshop on D.I. I don't know if you want some links, but they're on my blog under workshops at http://ppsblogs.net/brianmckee.
