Digital / Online Workfolders

Colleagues,

I would like to have a central storage location for student work.  Currently, each student in my class is given a folder, in which they log and store their work.  As they move from year to year they take selected pieces and to the next grade.  Ultimately, when they graduate from high school they will have a large collection on works from their schooling within our district.

I would like to have at least for MY CLASS a place where the students / I can store their work.  Does anyone know of such a service? Or any innovative ways of doing this?

our school does have google apps where most students have access to google docs / google email etc...
