eTextBooks Boon or Bust? Any hope at all?

Please share your experiences with eTextbooks. The struggle for textbook publishers to make the shift to digital media has had an impact on our own adoption. For the last few years we have been trying to use some of the offerings of Pearson, McGraw Hill, and others. The idiosyncrasies of these emerging digital texts has made for some large inconveniences both in and out of the classroom. As we are looking towards next year, there is a push to move backwards to printed on paper texts. We are also now able to look at mobile computing in a new way, thanks to the latest offerings from Apple and others to follow perhaps.
