I am interested in harnessing some of these web 2.0 tools to help my colleagues and I better communicate and collaborate on issues that arise in everyday school life as well as the big picture. Time is very hard to come by in our schedule and we have been having a tough time getting through some of the discussions and planning meetings for some of our committees. A Ning site like this seems the best way to go, but I am wondering what pitfalls (and how to avoid/deal with them) we could expect. Any input from people with experience in this area or a push in the right direction would be appreciated.
I am also looking into using a wiki to help organize and track some aspects of our boarding life. Keeping track of comments from dorm parents, the nurse, the study hall proctors, tracking students infractions in the dorm and planning weekend events would all be a part of the wiki. One question I have is if wikis have the ability to automatically share information between pages. That is can I set part of the wiki up in a database fashion and have content added to one page be automatically listed on a different page as well. Again, any help would be appreciated.
