Comiclife.com: a free download software that allows students to make comics using stored images or web images. I used it for illustrated the branches of government. It can be used for story-telling, creative writing, history, and sciences. It has easy to use templates and is visually stimulating.
Thanks Phuong!
I have used Comiclife once before. I agree it is very creative and useful for science and history. Two of my favorite web 2.0 tools are Little Bird Tales and Glogster. I have always like Kerpoof too but just recently learned the site will be shutting down soon.
What grade do you teach? Do you have any other suggestions for web 2.0 tools?
Thanks,
Sandy
My own particular interest is Mathematics and I have lots of favourites! I'd say have a look at WolframAlpha though because it is useful for many subjects, not just Maths - some useful links here, including queries for younger children.
I agree with you re Wallwisher (now called Padlet) - it is excellent, really easy to use.
I have used and like Storybird for very easy creation of stories.
I really like the word cloud tools like Wordle or Tagxedo - some links here.
Bookmarking tools such as Diigo are useful and note that educators can set up Diigo accounts for younger students.
Have you seen the sites I have gathered here? Loads of ideas for classroom use. Richard Byrne's Free Technology for Teachers is excellent and note his best of the web 2013.
You might be interested in Jane Hart's top 100 tools for learning, I have linked to her presentation here and added some thoughts on my personal favourites. These are perhaps more general, but interesting none the less.
