I am currently a trainee teacher hired as a music specialist teaching BTEC Music Technology as well as Performance and Composition.
The groups are small, (approximately 8 students) working in a small studio with one workstation and two live rooms attached.
Depending on the sessions aims I split the groups into pairs as: techs, engineers, producers, and performers and I rotate them regularly to keep from anyone sitting idle for too long and to ensure they all get to experience everything.
As much as the lessons are going well, with only one workstation I cannot help but feel I could possibly be doing more to keep the students engaged for more of the lesson.
If anyone has any tried and tested ideas/techniques for keeping students busy in this sort of situation I would love to hear your suggestions.
I'm guessing their are no tech teachers on here then?
