I have traditionally done a papers in the binder kind of year long project with my middle school students.  I would LOVE to move this to an e-portfolio. I am looking at the possibility of Google portfolios.  Has anyone used these?  Is there something you would recommend that is better?

First, have you seen this?

Google docs would offer a great way to track students work and activities.

Another option is using Moodle. Even though it is a course management system it offers the ability to keep track of student work and could be intergrated with Google Docs.

I've only heard of this but it is designed as an e-portfolio system. It's called Mahara. Like Moodle I believe it is free and open source.
