I am an elementary physical education teacher and have been trying to incorporate more technology into my classroom. So far I have used Google forms to give students surveys and assessments. I have also used Google Drive to create links for videos and  documents that I wanted the students to view at home. This allows me create more physical activity time and reduce the time that I need to lecture (since I only see them once a week). Does anyone have any other ideas on incorporating Google apps into a PE setting?

Thanks. Did you have students do this in class or at home? If they did it in class, what type of technology did you have?

I like that idea. I just have to be careful not to get to carried away because my technology is limited in the gym. Thanks

I am a high school PE teacher but you might be able to adapt this to your age group. I use google forms to create a peer and self assessment of a skill. They complete one for each unit. The students indicate on the form if their peer is completing the skill using each of the cues listed. Students work in groups of 3. One performer, one is the observer and the other might be a passer for example. The observer assesses the performers use of the cues for each skill and indicates it on the form. The self assessment is more of a reflection on their sportsmanship and working well with others but also an assessment of their success and improvement in a skill area. In my school we can choose to be a BYOD course so students are used to having a tablet or smartphone with them. I usually allow them to bring their device out for this part of the class and put them away for the rest of the activities.
