We're looking for ways to integrate haiku LMS and Facebook. There are several ways to ingrate the two and we're looking for feedback as to which you think would be most useful to you and your students. I would like to propose two scenarios that for your consideration. You can read the full details here: http://docs.google.com/View?docid=dfmhz4gr_35cc3dzvcs

We would love to hear your feedback, both positive & negative.

Our district blocks Facebook and I don't see that changing any time soon. I would be curious to know how many other school districts also prohibit it.
Good point Kathi. I've added a few notes to the document explaining which features would require access to Facebook in order to be useful.

I guess I envision the Facebook Application as a way for students to stay up-to-date on what's happening in their haiku classes even when they're at home (or back in their dorm room in the case of college students). Instead of having to sign in to haiku every night to see if there are new discussions or an assignment due, a student could just go to Facebook and, while they were there, check in on their haiku classes.
With my college class I do think having access to Haiku through Facebook would at least keep the class discussions in the forefront as the students go in and out of Facebook. I did post your question to my class (since they would be the ones using it) unfortunately, the semester ends next week so they might not be checking the site that often this week as they prepare for their finals. If I hear anything back I'll let you know.

On a side note, to check this out (since I am in Kathi's district that blocks Facebook, and youtube, and a good chunk of the fun stuff on the Internet) I did go ahead and set up a Facebook account last night... Interesting, now I'm torn between figuring out Facebook or WOW. Thanks a lot!
