Hi! I am Norman Babia, a Math, Science, and Music teacher. I am new to this Classroom 2.0 community. I hope I will be a good member and generous contributor to this site. I will be taking classes on Web 2.0 starting 2009 Spring Break. I am excited to learn more about this site and apply the necessary skills in my classroom teaching.

Hi Mandy....thanks for welcoming me. Hehehe... yes, I'm being ambitious however in a good way. The course I am referring to is an online 3 credit course from Univ. of San Diego. It will be about Web 2.0. It would start during our spring break (that will start early Mar 23) and will continue in the months following. I reside here in the beautiful island of Guam...less traffic, lots of time for personal enrichment. Our spring break here is offers us a lot of personal time. So, I am taking advantage of this course offered here in our school for continuing education.

I am excited to take this course because it will focus on classroom applications on Wikis, Video & Audio Podcasting, blogs...and some more.

How about you? Can you share some of your best practices for effective teaching using technology? I am sure you have a lot in store.
Hi Norman! Are you taking the course at SDSU or USD? Who is teaching the course? I am an adjunct faculty at both. I taught two courses online last semester about performance analysis and making online learning more engaging. Are you in a MA program or certificate program? Do you know Gail Lucas?
Hi Rebecca! I am Norman Babia. I am a resident of Guam and am teaching in one of the schools here. Yes, I will be taking a course offered through USD (Course Code 560GR). Mr. Rolly Maiquez, our school tech, will be teaching us this course for continuous education and teacher in-service developmental training.

I have already my MA in Instructional Technology. I believe taking this course will give me the latest best practices of technology integration in the classroom.

Sorry, I do not know of any Gail Lucas.

I am very excited to be connected with you. I hope to learn more from expert teachers like you in matters of enhancing student learning through technology.
Norman, You can see all the stuff my students have done in the last few years here. Let me know if you need any help.
Hi Nancy! So kind of you to extend help to a stranger - your a modern day Good Samaritan :). You have confirmed what I have known all along that the BEST teachers are those that SHARE. I made a quick look on your blog site (I'm impressed...keep up the good work!) and I bookmarked it already for future reference.

I surely will knock on your "virtual" door to ask for insights and guidance. Thanks a lot!
