High school Reading Competiton Program

I have several students this year who are avid readers.  Some are checking out books from our school library almost every 2 to 3 days.  I really want to encourage this and one day I mentioned starting a reading competition and that got some students interested and excited.  I have never done such a thing before, sad to say, but now I feel a little lost.  I'm not quite sure how to approach it, because I do want this to be purely for fun. Any ideas or suggestions?
