Hi - I have plenty of experience hiring, but not in the education space. I need someone who has experience selling successfully into schools, national school organizations, teachers associations, etc. Having a rolodex of contacts will be as important as sales/negotiation skills.

I'd love to get some advice on how to approach this new hire. The goal of the position is quite simple - to drive massive amounts of free, global teacher registrations to our service at www.glogster.com/edu. What type of salary is required? Can this be a virtual position or should I hire someone local to the Boston area where I am? What other qualifications might be beneficial to this new hire?

If anyone wants to kick this around a bit, please feel free. I'll be attaching a job description to this post shortly.

Thank you,

-Andrew Connelly

Hi Andrew,
I might have some suggestions for you - drop me an email. sylvia@genyes.com
Thanks Sylvia - I'll drop you a seperate note shortly.....
Andrew,
Another great way to draw teachers to your site is to let them see it in action. Consider hiring some "real" teachers to give presentations at conferences that demonstrate how Glogster.edu can be used in the classroom. Many teachers also blog about their classroom experiences and could share examples or curriculum ideas. (email me if you are looking for presenters - colette@edtechvision.org).

Btw, I am using it with my MS & HS students right now and they love it and I appreciate the ease of the new education version.
Colette

Thanks so much for the advice. I would love to meet the folks you have in mind, so I will send a note. I agree on VARs and have been looking into that as well.....talk soon! - Andrew
