How can primary source museums serve teachers?

Hi there!  I am an informal educator the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, MO. I work within the division of School and Educator Services, where our mission is to connect the museum's collection to curriculum (Common Core) and make the museum accessible to learners and educators.  (I'm particularly interested in getting STEM educators in our doors...)

We are currently working on making our tours more interactive through the use of Visual Thinking Strategies and Inquiry-based questioning.  We're also exploring how to connect the collection with digital media.  Basically, we are converting our museum from Tours 1.0 to Tours 2.0.

Otherwise, I'm so interested in hearing what you have to say in this forum!  I've lurked through Classroom 2.0 for years (particularly in my former life as a science museum educator), and I love the depth and diversity in the responses here.
