How Math Teachers Can Improve the Web (and everyone else too)

Hey Everyone.

http://richard.milewski.org/archives/396

A blog post by Richard Milewski who is working with Mozilla (yes the people who brought you FireFox) to help make searching the web better.

They have created a plug-in that collects information about how people use Firefox. It's called Test Pilot They make public all the statistical data they collect. They also show how they use that data collected.

(Test Pilot does collect data from the people who download it. However, Mozilla has a very strict privacy policy that they follow. None of the data collected can identify you or your students. I know this doesn't mean much but I trust these people with my data).

Mozilla is a Open company which means anyone can get involved. It could be a great hands on experience for your kids and how people use math in the real world.

I too am helping them develop this plug-in (to a lesser extent). Read the article and if you have any questions at all please post them here. I'll be happy to answer you as best as I can.

Thanks for reading.
Mike
