The Carol Morreale Scholarship
This $1000 award was established in memory of Carol Morreale, an educator, early member, and tireless advocate for gifted children. Funded through memorial donations, this scholarship was created to recognize excellence in children. The award will be given to a student in grades 1 through 8 who has demonstrated excellence in language arts or math. Financial need also will be a consideration.
Deadline for applications is Sept. 1.

Northwestern University:
Advanced Teaching: The Gifted Northwestern University's Master of Science in Education Program within the School of Education and Social Policy now offers a gifted focus in its Advanced Teaching concentration to help educators meet the unique needs of academically talented students. Advanced Teaching: The Gifted is designed so that certified teachers and administrators can investigate approaches to curriculum planning and pedagogy that will create a challenging learning environment for all students.
The 6 course certificate provides opportunities for experienced educators to deepen and extend their professional knowledge through study, dialogue and inquiry at a top-ranked graduate school of education. The courses can also count towards the completion of a Master's Degree in Advanced Teaching.
