Introductions

HI! My name is Michelle Sumner. I started this group in an effort to find other teachers using, or interested in learning more about using technology in the classroom. I have been teaching for 13 years. Most of my experience has been as an Itinerant, however I have also been in the classroom and an administrator. I have seen an explosion of technology within the hearing classrooms I visit and unfortunately not as much growth in the DHH classrooms. I am hoping to return to the classroom soon and have been eagerly exploring the advantages of using Web 2.0, Google Docs, Wiki spaces and blogs to get my students writing. My current DHH students can always be found with text phones in hand, so why not take hold and go with the flow. Make it real for them. I am excited to hear your stories and begin sharing ideas with other teachers.
