I have seen iPads used in kindergarten and first grade classrooms to supplement math centers. I think that this is a great idea because certain apps allow students to practice specific math skills while using popular technology. This allows students to receive immediate feedback on problems they solve.

Ipads allow for individual student creativity and critical thinking skills.  For example, students can create their own online profiles.  They can also find links to external sites, photos and videos which they can use to create slide shows and other presentations in the classroom and at home.  Furthermore, ipads create student enthusiasm for learning and potentially motivate students to be better learners and hopefully better employees in the future.  Students can also use their ipads for school assignments, research projects, homework, blogging, and reading assignments.  Also, ipads will cut down on costs for many school districts because they will no longer have to buy materials each year.

Do you think iPads would futhur help diminish childrens ability to write in this day and age? I do think the iPad would be very useful, but i'm not sure in kindergartners should be using them at such a young age.
