Keyboarding Research

As I attempt to express the importance of keyboarding to my students I am wondering if there is research out there explaining the financial benefits of the skill.

Several years ago I heard somewhere that people who know how to keyboard correctly are more likely to go to college, and make $10-15 more per hour than someone who does not.

I cannot find this research again though. Does anyone have this research or know where it may be?

I have looked and looked, but to no avail.
