Language Delay

I recently did a project about early childhood language delay and the potential it has to effect students as they grow. I am interested to see if anyone can recommend technology that they have seen or used to support students experiencing language delay. I read about the use of the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) but am hoping to find out about other software programs or learning devices that have been useful. I know this is a broad topic and welcome any ideas or advice. This topic is relatively new to me but is something I realize I will encounter in my education career.
