I was introduced to the Livescribe pen at the end of this school year. It's an amazing tool - especially for math teachers because it doesn't require anything except the Livescribe pen and paper to write equations. I'm trying to figure out the best way to put it to use. Any ideas?
I bought one for myself at Best Buy over the winter break. I have been "playing with it" over the last couple of months in preparing for two big conferences coming up. Since I am not auditory, this pen will allow me to remember what was said and then share it with colleagues who couldn't attend the workshops. I will be reading this blog to see how math teachers might use it. Though not a math teacher, I provide support to teachers of ELLs on my campus. Math has been a bit overlooked and this might get them a bit energized:)
I've been saying "next year" for at least 4 years. The first few years I was finishing school and didn't have the money . Last year I had a Computer Lab and didn't want miss any days - and this year I'm just subbing so I'd be hurting my family financially. I would love to get out of the Flint area, but I know that things are tight for a lot of good people everywhere.
So, perhaps next year. :- )
I certainly have a look at your lightscribe recordings though.
