Looking for 2nd Grade Classes Worldwide to Study Continents

Hi,
I teach in a small, private school in Chicago, Illinois.  I'm looking for other 2nd grade classes from all over the world to learn about the continents through research, personal experience, and interaction with each other. We are hoping to create a wiki to post facts, pictures, videos, and hopefully, we'll be able to Skype with each other, as well. We are open to other ways of collaborating, ie Wallwisher, Voicethread, Blogs, etc. If you are interested, please sign into the Google Spreadsheet that we created. http://tinyurl.com/29tlj4m
Thank you,
Faith

I'm a Sp. Ed. Resource/Consultant Teachers so I don't have my own class, but when the new school year starts up, I can ask the second grade teachers in my school if they'd be interested. I'm not sure what Wallwisher and Voicethread are, but I can ask the Tech. Support Teacher if she does, My school is a large PreK-8th grade public school in Buffalo, NY.

If you haven't already done so, you might want to cross-post your request to the second-grade-teachers Ning Network group, too. The url address is http://second-grade-teaches.ning.com
A grade 2 Colorado teacher is one of the winners of the Microsoft Innovative Education Forum and will represent North America at the world finals in South Africa in October 2010.

Here's a link to her winning, year-long project, including a video overview, links to student work, etc. It's pretty inspiring!

You might also want to connect your older students with students from Israel. A long time user of ePals, Marsha Goren, has some amazing student work: http://www.epals.com/media/p/230946.aspx

If you need more info on how to do this, I'm doing a webinar on Aug. 31 at 1 pm EST (noon CDT). Info is posted in Events here on Classroom 2.0, and it's no charge to attend or to use the tools I'm talking about.
Faith, I teach a second grade class in the panhandle of Florida. Have you found anyone to Skype with through Classroom 2.0? We wanted to Skype with a classroom from Africa (We are learning continents as well) but I have not found an elementary class.
