Alright, I am in my first year teaching talented and gifted students. I have to create a unit for my 8th grade science students where they will be pulled from their science class to work at a higher level on the following topic. As I begin to study up to figure out what any of this means, I was hoping somebody(ies) could throw me some ideas of a project or idea to use to help teach students these concepts at a high level. Now, I am off to learn what this means at a basic level.

Here is the topic
Extension:
XY Scatter Graphing using Microsoft Excel or another graphing technology.
Distance vs. Time Graphs2
Velocity vs. Time Graphs (including positive and negative acceleration)

Equations – Pay attention to units.

Velocity = Speed in a given direction = distance/time

Acceleration = Positive or negative change in velocity = (final velocity – initial velocity)/time

It is important to us that these students know where units come from.
